Transform Solution has been extremely advantageous and has given me a new respect for my personal time and the time of others. I work with a group of highly intelligent and ambitious people at Ticor Title Company and many times I feel each of them are better utilized doing something they’re passionate about. What “they do best” ranges from person to person and position to position. The main idea relates to Good to Great by Jim Collins. Essentially it’s important to put people in a situation where they’re “in the right seat on the bus and the bus is headed in the right direction”.

This inspiration has had reciprocal benefits in my life as well. I’ve realized something about my marriage and the way my wife and I interact.  Without taking this too far I’d like to leave you with this question…

If you can make others around you better and in the process make your life more fulfilling, would you do it? Better yet why wouldn’t you do it?

You don’t have to use a bunch of fancy tools are even read any books, you just have to make a conscious decision to do.

• I wanted to upload images to be resized and associated with a post…
• It wouldn’t work…
• It had to be a problem with the .php routine for resizing the image…
• And I became extremely frustrated with the following error…

WordPress Error: Unable to create director /wp-content/uyploads/2009/mydir/summer/ Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Here’s How Not To Solve the Problem: Blame the .php file, or the image resizer, or WordPress, or WooThemes, or BlueHost, or even yourself.

Here’s How To Solve the Problem: Simply go to this page, read the instructions and everything will be okay.  Trust me…  You’ll fell better.

TATANGO!

There isn’t much to say except this is a new way for you to manage your text messaging.  There are plenty of times when I’d like to send a group of my friends or clients a text and I just don’t have time to copy paste or re-write the text.  This tool allows me to do that at a reasonable price.  I won’t say anymore, use it for business or pleasure, but rest assured it’s helped me immensely!

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a tool similar to your high end tools like Photoshop, etc.  While I’m not an expert, in fact I’m a little “gimpy”, when it comes to photo editing or manipulation I was able to download the program and start using it right away.  The help tools and access to the user manual are excellent.  By simply hovering over a tool and pressing F1 you’ll be taken directly to their web based user manual and placed directly on a page regarding the operation of the desired tool.  I’m a fan already and I’m starting to experiment with editing old images and creating new ones too.  I originally embarked on finding a tool I could use to create my own logo for RyanTheHawaiian.com and eventually came across a blog post at BloggingWithSuccess.net called How To Create 125 x 125 Ad For Your Blog where they mentioned this tool.

Bottom line is this…  If you’re looking for a an image manipulation tool and you’re not ready to throw down big bucks on professional software GIMP is an excellent place to start your graphics endeavor.

“The 4 Hour Workweek” by Timothy Ferriss is changing my mind about efficiency and changing my perspective on time management.  The gist of the book so far (as I’m not done yet) is to leverage technology and other resources to create more time in your day.  With this time we’re then able to pick and choose how we spend it to better the world or at least our lives and those that surround us.

Interesting concept right?

I think the biggest thing this book has done for me besides change perspective is encourage action through doing.  We all know thoughts and theories are fun to explore, but actual implementation of those ideas is where true happiness and accomplishment reside.

Go out and get this book and I’ll keep you updated as I read through it.
